But isn't this a 'boil the ocean' sized problem? It strikes me that the cost to make even a modest impact - to redistribute the way people and places are arranged across the entire planet - is so insurmountably huge as to prevent any actual action. To that, the long-term nature of the threat makes it almost impossible to get anyone excited about it.

not that hard to make an impact - sure sprawl is everywhere - but it was really nice living in one of these types of communities as I did in MD - build a few more here and there and i am pretty sure others will like them too
