I initially thought that the predatosome was going to be from neolithic man, or some ancient organism....rattushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04992537056913945508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10781944.post-46766046446163361752010-01-26T22:25:24.755-08:002010-01-26T22:25:24.755-08:00http://eisenomicsblogeome.blogspot.com (I fail at ...http://eisenomicsblogeome.blogspot.com (I fail at linking...)Psi Wavefunctionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10829712736757471647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10781944.post-67260195828995222082010-01-26T22:24:34.208-08:002010-01-26T22:24:34.208-08:00You know, when I saw that title, I first thought o...You know, when I saw that title, I first thought of you... then I thought maybe they found a special organelle-type thing for, I dunno, predation stuff. I was being optimistic and all that.

Then I skimmed further, and my fleeting sense of optimism and faith in science was ruthlessly crushed upon the realisation that they really meant -ome, not -some.

So.... is anyone keeping track of the Eisenomics Blogeome? The term 'some' is used for 'body' (chromo-some) and commonly used to describe a nucleic acid-protein complex (e.g., spliceosome) or a multiprotein complex (e.g., inflammasome). What they are describing is rather a 'predome', another variant on 'virulome'.Ramy K.
